Venue Highlight: The William Aiken House

In this series, we’ll share insider tips on how to make the most of our ensembles based on popular venues around Charleston. Read on for Today’s Field Notes on The William Aiken House, located at 456 King Street.

Location, location, location! We love playing our music in this sprawling venue, with the energy of King Street just steps away. Located in the heart of Restaurant Row, this museum-caliber Southern Gothic mansion and lush courtyard garden is wrapped within elegant and iconic wrought-iron gates.

Our entire range of offerings sound right at home here at the William Aiken House – and our artists feel right at home here, too. We can feature any one of our ensembles for your event at this amazing space: take your pick among our Reception Bands, DJ’s, Pop + Classical String Ensembles, Swing-Jazz Combos, Guitar Duos, to Harp, Vocalists, and Piano.

Set-Up and Staging for your Event: Any and all DJ’s or Musicians with electrical equipment must be outdoors in the Courtyard-Garden. And, from our experience, if you’re having your Ceremony or any speeches out in the Garden, we’ve got to say that Mic’ing your Ceremony is a must. At times, the noise from the foot and street traffic just outside of the gates can be overheard. We want your guests to hear the important words from your Officiant or Guest Speaker. To address this need, we provide a dedicated Sound Engineer equipped with a Bose Soundsystem.

Our acoustic instruments, however, can play throughout the grounds, including the interior and on the porches of this beautifully decorated home.

Reach out today to start planning the Music and Sound for your next bash at The William Aiken House. We’d love to work with you!
