Jennifer Proveaux

Jennifer Proveaux

Voice

Jennifer began singing with choirs when she was 7 years old and has built upon that musical foundation to create a multifaceted career in many different forms of music.  Earning her BM in Vocal Performance from Clayton State University, the home of Spivey Hall, and her M.A.T. in Choral Education from the College of Charleston, she developed her abilities as a classical singer, staff soprano and choral educator which allowed her to become, what Dr. Steven J. Mulder, Director of Choral Activities at Gordon State University, called, an “unshakable soprano.”  She has performed roles ranging from Susanna from Le Nozze di Figaro to Carlotta from The Phantom of the Opera.  She also worked with the Atlanta Opera and Opera Charleston during its time and has had the opportunity to perform many other roles in the span of her career.

Beginning in 2014, she completed her studies and became a Choral Director. She worked with a wide age range of students and enjoyed helping young musicians follow their musical passions in choral, solo or popular music.  Jennifer continues to do this as a private voice instructor.  During her years as a Choral Director, she also followed her passions and, after singing with many other bands, began her own popular music project.  As of 2019, she actively performs with her band, Time & Pressure, as the lead singer around the Charleston area. Her personal interests in rock band performance and live sound allowed her to gain hands on experience in sound engineering over the past 6 years and she now offers her services as a live sound technician whether it is amplifying an officiant at a wedding or helping a 6 piece rock band be heard from the back of the venue.  Jennifer likes to “live on both ends of the musical spectrum” and dedicates her career to communicating with people through music in any form.
